Madonnas nagging problem
|
All manner of rumours are being tossed around in the tabloids following Wednesday’s shocking Ritchie divorce announcement. Today’s Sun even reckons the cause of the split can be traced back to an incident with a nag way back in 2005.
No, we’re not suggesting that Madge flipped out when Guy left his boxers on the floor one too many times, or anything like that – we’re talking nags of the equine variety. Ciccone-spotters will recall that the Queen of Pop snapped eight bones when she was tossed from her horse while out on her 47th birthday. She wasn't impressed when her husband’s response was less than sympathetic, allegedly telling her: “Come on darling, you’re a tough bird. You’ll be back on the horse in no time.”
“From the moment Madonna fell from that horse, their marriage was doomed,” said a source close to the couple. “If you can pinpoint an exact event or incident which spelled the death knell for them as a couple, Madonna’s horse-riding accident was it. Every other row the couple had following that boiled down to what happened that summer.” `
Meanwhile, Guys mum, the ever so frightfully posh Lady Amber Leighton has also spoken out on the split, saying her son only has himself to blame for the marriage breakdown, since he knew what he was doing when he married her and got involved with that end of the market. Ouch!
Oh, and apparently poor Guy was banned from eating pies and fry-ups at home in Ritchie Towers, since Madonna had banished the humble frying pan from ever darkening her doors. Instead, it was steamed vegetables and smoothies all the way which might explain Guys eagerness to buy shares in a traditional London boozer, if nothing else.
But as ever, Her Madgesty had the last word. On stage in Boston last night, she introduced her song Miles Away with a barbed dig at Guy when she cooed: This song is for the emotionally retarded. You might know a few people who fall into that category God knows I do.
